How do I connect my inventory with Counterpoint?
To automate your inventory sync, you will need to generate a data file from your database server that Counterpoint uses and schedule an automated delivery via SFTP. If you require technical assistance, contact [email protected] or (303) 692-8200.
1. Generate Your Inventory File Start by creating a batch file using a SQL command which will be run from your Counterpoint system. Download sample SQL scripts here to get started.
- Required Fields: Vendor UPC/EAN and Quantity on Hand
- Optional Field: Price
- Format: Must be .csv, .txt, .xls, or .xlsx. (Physical inventory only) Please see our general guidelines for any format questions.
- Generate Your Locally File Transfer Credentials Locally pulls your inventory automatically via SFTP.
- Log in to your Locally Dashboard
- Navigate to the SFTP Credentials page.
Important: Your password will be displayed only once upon generation. Copy and store it in a secure location (like a password manager) immediately.
3. Automate File Delivery Use a tool like GoodSync (Free) to move the files from your server to SFTP using the credentials generated in Step 2. 4. Once your automated sync is active, email [email protected].
